In AICE Media Studies we had to make a film that represents one word. We had to do this without the use of audio, using shots and composition and editing techniques to get the message across. The word me and my partner got was regret and we decided to go about it by having the main character mess around during study hall and fail his test.
We started the project two days late but finished around three and a half days early. We used the first day we worked on it to brainstorm and create a basic storyboard to follow in filming. We used shots of the clock ticking indicating the amount of time passing as he doesn’t study. There are several instances where the main character could have chose to study but didn’t study until a few minutes before his class was over. We used color grading and the speed of the shots to try to get to the message across.
What could have been done better is the editing and the whole story. The story was long enough to fulfill the one minute requirement, but didn’t get the message off well enough.
